Lyna Vaisberg founded her current company, Trustway Senior Concierge Services, four years ago. A  Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS), Lyna has dedicated the last four years of her real estate career to garnering the industry’s best resources to help older adults. She explains how downsizing later in life, for whatever reason, can be “a difficult process,” but having the right tools at your fingertips makes all the difference — and that is her company’s specialty.

Of course, not every senior wants or needs to relocate. Trustway Senior Concierge Services acknowledges that fact with many aging-in-place options. Because numerous older adults want to continue living in the home they’ve always enjoyed, Trustway can guide the process and make their desire easier and safer. “Clients may want to stay in their current home but need to make some modifications to age in place safely,” Lyna says. “Or, they may be considering a move to a new property that is better suited to their needs. In either case, our goal is to help them discover the ideal solution for their unique situation.”

Understanding clients’ needs begins with sitting down with them and learning as much as possible about thelifestylesyle and goals. Each relationship with a new client begins with an honest conversation, often with family members, to gauge the process. Lyna notes that relocation or making changes to a longtime home are personal decisions, and the utmost trust is necessary to manage the logistics smoothly. “We want to make sure everyone is comfortable with the decisions being made and feels confident in trusting us with this important task,” she says.

Trustway conducts a safety assessment of the client’s property and provides a thorough report of findings and recommendations. After reading their custom report, clients can draw their own conclusions about whether it makes more sense to relocate to another home or make changes to their current home. Changes to make an existing home safer could include adding things like stabilizing handles inside a bathroom or wider doorways to enhance mobility. “Unfortunately, many homes are not designed with safety in mind,” Lyna points out. “That’s where Trustway comes in. We combine real estate with accessibility and safety for older adults.”

Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Lyna worked as a volunteer for five years in a nonprofit organization related to the distribution of medicines to an elderly community in her native city — which, she says, is part of why she has passion for helping seniors. Sixteen years ago, she relocated to the beautiful city of Miami and found herself developing a thriving career in real estate. Prior to founding Trustway Senior Concierge Services, Lyna spent more than a decade helping clients with either the selling process or buying the home to suit their wants and needs. Through her work, she has observed many different situations pertaining to the goals of her clients. Her relationships with seniors, in particular, has continually inspired her to work with older adults and help them navigate the golden era of life.
